"Hey that is not an excuse!"
Hey man I hate to say it
but Aspies can drive you crazy

Want to tear your hair out
and pound your head against the wall
But I am here to say
You know nothing about me at all.

You say I am rude, stubborn, and naive
and that is G rated terms you said about me.
But I tell you you got it all opposite.
The people closest to me describe me friendly and passionate
and not to mention intelligent.

I might not stand out and be invisible to most
but those blind people don't matter
all they say is "She's retarded" "and a los

And he takes it all.

He doesn't understand. Or maybe he does and doesn't let on. He always has been one to want attention.

No. That was wrong. Not attention. He wants friends. He wants people who don't make fun of how he dresses or the things he likes. He wants people who don't egg him on for a laugh or call him names and make fun of his (often less than socially acceptable) mannerisms.

He doesn't see where he is wrong though! Oh, no. He can't tell when an appropriate time to make goofy faces is, or how Nazi jokes aren't very funny when in serious discussion. He doesn't know that

Aspergers: Behind the eyesPeople with Aspergers tend to have great difficulties with making and keeping friends.
Through out our early lives we tend to talk and try to understand others.
We assume everyone else thinks and works the same way.
We often ask the wrong things unaware of the social taboo factor, this in turn pushes others away.

Wondering why we try to ask and they try harder to avoid us without an actual answer. From this we feel a deep sense of rejection, and rejection for us cuts deeper than it does for most average people. It makes us question "whats wrong with me!? Why cant I figure it out? What did I do wrong?!".

Positive Traits of Aspergers SyndromeMany of those with Asperger's syndrome have a number of positive characteristics, including integrity, intelligence, endurance, and freedom from prejudice.

I walked along a path that seemed to have no end.
Then suddenly, I paused.
In a little area of this chilly night, took place a sort of talent show.

People with Autism/Asperger's find it more difficult to read the signals most of us take for granted. As a result, they find it more difficult to communicate and interact with others.

How can autism steal a child when it was already there to begin with, standing loyally by the child as they grow?

I think of autism as a pair of glasses, not a kidnapper. It allows you to see clearly what "normal" people overlook, as well as snippets of truth, even at the cost of causing you some emotional pain. Indulging in your interests and hobbies can ease it, though, making this "curse" a gift.

I wouldn't trade my "disorder" for anything <3
